On the 16th May prices at the Club bar went up 10% for cash purchases, prices remain at the pre May 16th level for swipe cards,  if you do not already have a swipe card please apply at the office for one.

Your committee is pleased to announce the availability of RBYC Swipe Cards
to all members. The RBYC Cards operate as a pre-payment card for all bar and
catering purchases, meaning you charge up the card with money that is
subsequently spent over the bar.

The RBYC Cards bring many advantages to both you and the club. For the club
it reduces paperwork and cash handling overheads; and since we have replaced
the chit system with cards it has significantly improved the overdue account
situation. For members it makes it easier to carry money when racing - no
notes to get wet - also it reduces the amount of change you have to carry.
For both members & the club it should also speed up bar purchases. If you
have cadet children then you can get them a card and pre-charge it with an
agreed amount, helping you to manage their spending.

In the future we plan to introduce more member benefits linked to the RBYC
Cards, specifically a discount to members for bar purchases made with the
card. We will keep you informed of developments on this front as we roll
them out.
The use of the RBYC Card is entirely optional, cash is still gratefully
accepted, as are credit cards and cheques. However, we urge you to support
your club by carrying the card - it helps show you are a member & helps our
bar profits.

To receive your card, please apply to Helen in the office, either by phone
or email. The card can be prepared for you and left for collection in the
bar or sent by post if you prefer - why not send a cheque into the office so
your card comes pre-charged and ready to use!
